Each year, the Department of Washington takes great pride in honoring exceptional individuals in public safety through our prestigious awards: Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, Firefighter of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year, Paramedic/EMT of the Year, and 911 Operator of the Year. These awards celebrate individuals who have not only met but exceeded the expectations of their roles, showcasing remarkable professional accomplishments and a strong commitment to community service. Our award recipients are honored at the annual Department Convention, and nominees for the Law Enforcement and Firefighter categories are submitted for national recognition.

Please note that, due to the national submission deadline, all local nominations for the 2025 awards must be RECEIVED by the Department by January 13, 2025. This ensures ample time for review and submission at the national level.
