It is with bittersweet feelings that I begin my new responsibilities as National Executive Committeeman. While I look forward to representing our Department at the national level with the same dedication and commitment that define our Legion family, it is with a heavy heart that we bid a temporary farewell to a great Legionnaire and dear friend. For more than five years, Bob Clark has been a steadfast leader within our Department – serving with distinction as Department Commander, Alternate NEC, and most recently as NEC. We thank you, Bob, for your unwavering service and friendship. Until we meet again!
I am both humbled and deeply honored to step into the role of National Executive Committeeman for the Department of Washington. This is not just a new title – it’s a responsibility I embrace with great pride and a renewed sense of purpose. When I first joined The American Legion, I found more than an organization. I found a family – people who understand what service means and who carry that spirit into everything they do. It’s that shared commitment to service, to our veterans, our families, and our communities, that inspires me every day.
As NEC, I have the privilege of being a voice for our Department at the national level, helping shape the future of our programs, policies, and priorities. But this isn’t about one person. It’s about all of us – every Legionnaire, Auxiliary member, and Sons of The American Legion volunteer who continues to strengthen the foundation of this great organization.
My goal is to represent Washington with integrity, energy, and an unwavering commitment to our mission. I want to listen, to collaborate, and to ensure that your ideas and concerns are heard and carried forward. Together, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of veterans and build stronger communities across our communities, state and nation. One of my goals is to keep you constantly updated of the happenings at National through the NEC Notebook in our Department webpage.
Thank you for the trust you’ve placed in me. I look forward to serving alongside each of you as we carry forward the proud legacy of The American Legion—for God and Country.
