National Guard, Riders, Marines & PGR

It is once again time for the honoring of those veterans that have passed away the preceding month.  This is a  ceremony that will be presented virtually and available to anyone to observe on their computer, phone or tablet on Facebook. Northwest Veterans Resource Centers the place. This solemn ceremony is celebrated on the last Friday of every month at the Veterans Memorial Park and presented by the CCVA and its member organizations.  Each name is read and the Liberty Bell replica is struck once in honor and respect for that veteran’s honorable service to this nation in its time of need. The American Legion Riders and PGR form the Flag Line, the Washington State National Guard performs the Flag Folding and Presentation to a family member from the list of Honorees, the Marine Corps League fires a 3 shot volley Rifle Salute, and Taps is performed by the Marine Corps League and Echo Taps is performed by the American Legion Riders. Amazing Grace is played on the Bagpipes by Richard McKenzie.  Members of the Clallam County Veterans Association conduct the ceremony and ring the bell.

This is a Virtual Ceremony and will only be attended by the Riders in the Flag Line, the Marine Corps League Honor Guard, the CCVA members reading the names and ringing the bell, Rick McKenzie and Eric Evans with the bagpipes, and the Washington National Guard doing the Flag Folding and Presentation.  There may be a few isolated family members there to receive their folded flag also.

This there are 30 names of Honorees.

Anyone at the ceremony is REQUIRED to properly wear a mask (covering their nose and mouth).  Proper social distancing is also required.  We have a sizable park and there is sufficient room to properly follow the established guidelines.
