An emergency proclamation for a state wide shutdown of restaurants, bars, and limits on size of getherings has been signed by Governor Inslee. It is the Department of Washington's recommendation that all Posts follow the CDCs, Health Department, and our State's Government recommendations and take any and all precautions to help safe guard their members. The Department would also recommend that all post postponed events and activities. All Spring District Conferences ARE POSTPONED. Per the Department Bylaws, the Department Commander will issue new dates as time and conditions allow.
Department Headquarters will not be open to the public. Regular Department business will be conducted with limited staff. The Adjutant will be in the office during regular business hours. The Department Service Division Offices are also limited in their operations. The American Lake VA Campus has taken action and has required the service office to be closed. The two (2) Veteran Service Officers will be working out of the Headquarters Office on Tuesdays and Thursdays to process claims over the phone for our Veterans that need our assistance. The Federal Building Service Office is still open in Seattle but also closed to the public. Telephonic appeals are still scheduled and the WDVA report will be worked on to be submitted next month.
All resolution need to be submitted to the Department Adjutant ASAP. There are resolutions that have been submitted to Department that are formatted and endorsed improperly. The Adjutant will be sending them back to the prospective candidates for corrections. Please have then corrected and returned ASAP.
